i am interested also in cooked milk, namely custard. particularily because, in a fit of unintentional international solidarity (and tinstac), i made us creme brulee tonight. that is baked custard, so its milk cooked twice even. then burned. ok, only the sugar is burned -- i was just causing trouble.
'facetiously' has all the vowels, including the iffy one, in order even. i wonder if other languages are so lucky? cooking tip -- if you are torching the sugar on the creme brulee and the smoke detector goes off, you are done!
i want to see a contest for best foods based on the egg/milk duo. that's like asking for hit songs that used the louie louie chord progression. i was eating some local ice cream based treat last week that had egg whites mixed in. also lots of marzipan and orange confit. odd. indulgent!
[i had to look up tinstac. i was pretty impressed seeing steev's blog come up as the #4 entry until i read the #1 everything2 entry which is the de facto definition it seems. getting a little small in here!]
i knew i could count on you guys to fill in the weak spots in my wee morning ramblings.
it gets a little picky. evaporated is technically still liquid, although it's been processed. i thought it was powdered until missy corrected me. condensed gets sugar added, so that loses on the purity count. but powdered milk, or "milk solids" appear in storebought foods all the time. i bet NASA has some form of plasma milk for those long sexless space missions.
